I fell down the stairs this afternoon and came to get a medical certificate for evening leave (my job is late at night, filming a restaurant review video). The first doctor examined me for less than a minute, didn't ask what I did for work, what hours I worked, and if I was able to work. He charged me several hundred baht, and then didn't write me a leave request. The next day, I went to discuss the previous day's medical certificate. Another doctor spoke terribly, as if I was buying a medical certificate. He claimed he was an expert in social security, and that he had a patient who was too lazy to go to work and preferred to stay home and see the doctor after work. In fact, I work late at night and see the doctor before work. He didn't listen to me for about 10 minutes, until I had time to explain my work. He then apologized, but didn't offer any help. He only offered an apology. In short, I spent about 400 baht on doctor's fees, didn't get any leave, and wasted my time at the doctor's office twice, all because the doctor refused to listen to my explanations. I've been coming to see the doctor here since I was a child. This experience will likely be the last time I'll ever step foot in this place.
